Mitchelstown take Avondhu Regional Debating Title

A tense night of outstanding debating took place on Tuesday the 8th of February in the Fir Grove, Mitchelstown. The standard was phenomenally high, and judge Flor O'Gorman had no easy task to determine the overall winner. The scores were very tight all down the line but victory finally went to Mitchelstown, who proposed the night's motion that "The Ireland of today, is not youth friendly." The best speaker award was presented to Bina McCarthy from the Ballyhoura team. Congratulations to both teams on an oustanding night's entertainment and we wish both teams the very best of luck as they progress to the next round on Sat the 26th of February. A big thank you also to Pat Coakley from the Awbeg club who presided over the competition on the night.
